O, .Co! Overstock.com Goes with O.co Coliseum

Big Stadium gets a .Co brand. When the .co registry announced last week that it had broken through the one million domains registered barrier, Overstock.com (NASDAQ: OSTK) said it had another big .co related announcement on tap for today. And here it is: the company will name the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum (where the Oakland Raiders and Oakland Athletics play) the O.co Coliseum. The company bought six year naming rights in April. Big props to Elliot Silver for being the first (I believe) to suggest that these naming rights could involve .co.

Report Card: TV Advertising for Geo Web Sites

After 6 months, how have my TV commercial’s fared? Six months ago I started advertising my Lakeway web site on cable TV. A few people have asked how it’s working. The answer is tricky. If the goal were merely to drive traffic to Lakeway.com, I’d say it’s not worth the cost.
